Overmiller Gelbvieh and Red Angus is a family operation consisting of Roger and Norma Overmiller along with their sons Kelly and wife Risa and Brent and wife Brittany.  Gelbvieh bulls were first purchased in 1984 and put with commercial cows.  After the first calf crop we were sold on the Gelbvieh growth and when the first daughters were in production it was definite that Gelbvieh was the right choice.  We started out selling half blood bulls and have bred up to Purebreds.  We now also offer Balancer and Registered Red Angus cattle.  We breed for bulls and females that work for the commercial cattleman and will leave progeny that work in all aspects of the industry.  Our registered cattle run side by side with the commercial cows to test their survivability in a low input operation.

As a testament to our cattle working for our customers, Quinton Roy of Palco, KS, bought 2 commercial heifers at our annual production sale in 2007. That summer one of them was Champion commercial Heifer at his county fair. This summer at his county fair this same heifer won the Super Cow/Calf pair contest. She not only was an attractive, well balanced, sound structured female, but she had the maternal power bred in to be an efficient cow, as she weighed 1160 lbs. this summer and had a 622 lb. calf at her side that adjusted to 746 lbs. Our goal is to produce productive well balanced cattle that produce a lot of beef.

Also, Kyle Sasse's county fair Grand Champion winning steer was sired by our Red Angus sire Top Gun and out of at Nitro daughter. This steer graded Choice with a 2.56 yield grade and weighed 1296 lbs. Stockwood Gelbvieh purchased 310U who is pictured on the sale animals page. 310U produced the 3rd and 4th place steers at the county fair they were exhibited at. Our goal is for our cattle to work in the pasture, feedlot, and the packing house.
